Atwood is one of the most accomplished two-sport athletes to ever put on a UNE uniform. On the basketball court, she ranks third all-time with 1,720 points, sixth with 327 assists and tied for fifth with 230 steals. Atwood was a four-time all-conference selection and voted Maine Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year for the 1996-97 season.
 
Two of her four seasons, she averaged at least 20 points per game, including her junior year when she put together one of the finest seasons in the program’s history. That season she averaged 20.9 points while shooting 80 percent from the free throw line and 44 percent from three. She also totaled 107 rebounds, 102 assists and 61 steals.
 
On the softball field, Atwood posted a .410 career batting average over three seasons. She is fourth all-time in that category and third with a .494 career on-base percentage. Atwood was an all-conference and all-state selection in that sport, as well.
