The St. Francis College basketball team of 1970-71 compiled a 19-6 record under the direction of head coach Jim Beaudry.  That squad delivered SFC its first-ever Naismith Conference championship, earning a berth to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) regional tournament.  The 19 contests the team won represented the highest total in school history until the 1987-88 season.  Although the squad played no games on-campus, it was credited with a 9-0 home record for its games at St. Anthony's School in Kennebunk, Biddeford High School and Thornton Academy.
