Johnson (Belgrade Lakes, Maine) graduated in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in history and secondary education. He played 93 games and was a two-year captain for the men's basketball team from 1982-86, and graduated as the program's career scoring leader at 1,442 points (15.5/game) and tops in assists with 541 (5.8/game). Those totals now stand 11th (10th) and 3rd (3rd), respectively. Johnson averaged more than 19 points and seven assists over each of his last two seasons, including an 8.4 assists/game mark that remains second in school history. even had a program-record 21-assist performance as a senior. Johnson was named an NAIA All-Star for his efforts.
