Saunders (Center Conway, N.H.) wrapped up a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2018, following one of the most productive offensive careers that fueled the greatest period of success in the history of the field hockey program. To date, she maintains sizable leads on UNE's career goals and points lists, with 64 and 152, respectively, and her per-game rates (0.71 goals/game, 1.69 points/game) are second and third. Saunders was a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America 3rd Team selection as a junior in 2016, a two-time 1st Team all-region pick, and a three-time All-CCC 1st Team honoree. She was part of the winningest class in program history (72-23 overall, 45-3 CCC), with four consecutive regular-season crowns (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017), just as many conference championships, and the same amount of NCAA tournament victories. During her 22-goal campaign as a junior, she notched one of the three CCC postseason hat tricks by a UNE player as the Nor'easters squashed Western New England University in the final. As a senior, the team captain factored in both scores as UNE rallied to beat Saint Joseph's College in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. Saunders was also UNE's Female Athlete of the Year in 2017-18.
More recently, during the 2021-22 seasons, Saunders assisted the UNE squad to back-to-back undefeated years in CCC action. She served as Interim Head Coach for the last seven games of 2021, and then the Nor'easters won their latest league title in 2022.
