The University of New England Athletics Department annually hosts the Vaughn Twaddel Golf Classic, which is named in honor of the longtime Westbrook College professor and UNE men's golf coach. Participants in the 18-hole scramble regularly include alumni from all three colleges, current University administrators and staff, and friends of Nor'easter athletics.
