Dubuque (Waterbury, Conn.) graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology from St. Francis College in 1971. He was a four-year starter on the men's soccer team from 1967-70, and senior captain. As a junior at the halfback position in 1969, Dubuque was a first team all-conference and first team All-New England (all division) by the National Soccer Coaches Association.
