Coached by Karol L'Heureux, the 1991 volleyball team qualified for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament after capturing both the NAIA District 5 and NAIA Bi-District 31 Championships.  In addition, the Knights defeated Bates College to win the state tournament.  UNE finished the season with a record of 32-7.

Members of that team included: Kim Jewell ’92, Julie Ledoux Foster ’92, Lori Koudelka Whitworth ’92, Coral Lynn Snowdeal ’93, Lorri Additon ’94, Anne Marlow ’95, Lori Kelley ’93, Kimberly Hopkins ’93, Jennifer Houseknecht ’95 and Stacey Fondak ’95.
