SCARBOROUGH, Maine -- The University of New England Athletics Department held its primary annual fundraiser, the Vaughn Twaddel Golf Classic, on Friday (June 10) at Nonesuch River Golf Club. Over 100 players took part in the event, which is named in the honor of longtime Westbrook College professor and UNE golf coach, Vaughn Twaddel.

The field of 28 teams -- full of UNE faculty and staff, alumni, friends, and supporters of Nor'easter athletics -- enjoyed the great conditions of the golf course and nice weather before the event concluded with a BBQ and the presentation of the tournament and raffle prizes.

Sponsored by Advanced Physical Therapy, the foursome of Scott Lemelin, Chris King, Brandon Wohl, and Matt Brooks fired a low gross score of 15-under-par 55 to win the event. Dan Roy, Eric Lacroix, Sterling Hartin, and Jody Pelotte -- a team sponsored by Sodexo -- carded the low net score of the day, at a 46.7 total.
