OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine -- The University of New England Athletics Department entertained 131 players and 33 teams to Dunegrass Golf Club on Friday (June 5) for the 2015 Vaughn Twaddel Golf Classic, which is named in honor of the longtime Westbrook College professor and UNE golf coach.

The field of current faculty and staff, alumni, friends, and supporters of Nor'easter athletics participated in an 18-hole scramble before a meal and the presentation of the tournament and raffle prizes.

Low gross honors went to the team of Ron Gaudio, Doug Silva, Frank Zola, and Bob Turner, who fired a 13-under-par round of 59 to win by one stroke. The low net score (46, after matching scorecards) was recorded by a team sponsored by Sodexo -- David Evans, Pam Ryder, Robby Hebert, and Kurt Bennett.
