OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine -- The University of New England Athletics Department entertained 115 participants on Friday (June 1) at Dunegrass Golf Club for the 2018 Vaughn Twaddel Golf Classic, which is named in honor of the longtime Westbrook College professor and UNE men's golf coach.

The field of current University administrators and staff, alumni from all three colleges, and friends of Nor'easter athletics played an 18-hole scramble before a banquet with the presentation of the tournament and raffle prizes.

Low gross honors went to the team of Dan Roy, Eric LaCroix, Steve Zinck, and Andy Adams, who won a matching-of-cards at the score of 13-under-par 59. The other round of 59 produced the low net score (51), which was recorded by the team of Matt Roy, Jared Cushman, Dave Sandals, and Paul Morley.
