OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine -- The University of New England Athletics Department welcomed 124 players and 32 teams on Friday (June 6) to Dunegrass Golf Club for the 2014 Vaughn Twaddel Golf Classic, named in honor of the longtime Westbrook College professor and UNE golf coach.
The field of current faculty and staff, alumni, friends, and supporters of Nor'easter athletics participated in an 18-hole scramble under sunny skies before a meal and the presentation of the tournament and raffle prizes.

Low gross honors went to the team of Ron Guadio, Doug Silva, Frank Zola, and Bob Turner, who fired a 13-under-par round of 59. The low net score (51) was recorded by Craig Lapierre, Ken Doughty, Bill Haines, and Robert Loranger.
