Swimmer Lizzie Wareham has been chosen University of New England Athlete of the Month for December.

Wareham, a sophomore from Osterville, Mass., won a pair of events at The Commonwealth Coast Conference Invitational and another two in a dual meet with Western New England College. At TCCC's, she claimed the 100-yard freestyle race in a career-best time of 56:13, and the 50-yard freestyle in 25.75. Wareham also added a second place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.12) to help the Nor'easters take second place out of six teams at the meet.
