Women's basketball player Kelley Paradis has been named UNE Athlete of the Month for December.
Paradis did a little bit of everything as the Nor'easters swept through defending CCC Champion Salve Regina (68-56), a nationally-ranked Colby squad (70-63 in OT), and Saint Joseph's (55-38). She averaged 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game, while shooting at a 53.3 percent clip (24-for-45) from the field.
The senior guard sent in 24 points in the win over SRU -- 15 of which came in a 28-16 run to close the contest. Paradis also had three blocks and three steals in the game.
She then posted a season-to-date high of 26 in the road win over the Mules, who were ranked 14th in Division III at the time. The Newport, Maine native notched six of UNE's first eight points in extra session to help Big Blue secure the upset. Her last two points of the Colby game moved her into 10th place on the program's all-time scoring list (1,210).
