Women's basketball player Beth Suggs has been named the UNE Athlete of the Month for November 2012.
Suggs began her senior season with a very strong first four games, leading the Nor'easters to a trio of victories. She opened with 16 points and 22 rebounds against Wellesley, establishing the fourth-best single-game rebound total in program history and the highest mark since the 1993-94 season.
The forward then powered Big Blue to its first triumph over Bowdoin in the last 18 meetings between the teams, with game-highs of 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Over the four games, Suggs averaged 15.0 points and 14.8 rebounds per outing (6.8 offensive), while shooting 48 percent (25 for 52) on field goal tries and 83 percent from the free throw line.
For her efforts, she was twice named Maine (MWBCA) Player of the Week and doubled-up with the same honor from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) after the week ending November 25.
