BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England men's soccer team carried a 1-1 tie into the 59th minute against Bowdoin College, currently ranked fifth in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25, but conceded two second-half goals as the Polar Bears eventually separated for a 3-1 non-conference triumph on Tuesday night at Blue Storm Stadium.
 
The Nor'easters (2-1-1) struck first with Cole Osburn's penalty kick in the 21st minute, and Bowdoin's Patrick Brady netted the equalizer – his first of two goals – during the 26th minute. Adam Prince had the go-ahead goal in the 59th minute before Brady found his second, an insurance tally in the 67th.
 
First-year goalkeeper Landon Dominski, coming off back-to-back shutouts, made five saves, including three key stops during the second half that kept UNE within striking distance. Oliver King made two saves for Bowdoin (1-0-1).
 
Total shots sided heavily with the Polar Bears, 25-7, but the Nor'easter defense deflected several of those Bowdoin attempts. Corner kicks also sided with the visitors, 5-2.
 
UNE saw a couple of scoring opportunities early, and cashed in when Osburn lined up for a penalty kick, with the rookie going bardown for the first of his career. (Watch)
