DUDLEY, Mass. – Nichols College scored two unanswered goals to come away with a 4-2 Conference of New England victory over the University of New England men's soccer team in Monday night's match, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was postponed due to weather.
 
UNE (3-5-2, 0-2-1) trailed, 2-0, but responded with back-to-back goals to tie game at 2-2 by the 32nd minute. Avery Morse, who scored both of Nichols' first-half goals, had the go-ahead tally in the 58th minute to finish off his hat trick with what proved to be game winner. Nick Reilly added insurance in the 90th minute.
 
Reaves Debin was responsible for UNE's first goal, his second in the last three games, winning a one-on-one battle with a Nichols defender before beating goalkeeper Anthony Grguric from just a few yards out in the 24th minute.
 
Haukur Karlsson had his team-best fourth goal of the season after rebounding an initial shot from Ethan Berry in the 32nd minute.
 
The Nor'easters put two shots on goal in the minutes leading up to Morse's go-ahead score. Each of Grguric's six saves for the Bison (6-3, 2-1) came in the second half.
 
UNE had a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
 
A non-conference test awaits UNE on Wednesday, Sept. 30 as the Nor'easters visit Plymouth State University at 3:30 p.m.
