BIDDEFORD, Maine -- After surrendering the doubles point at the outset of the match, Western New England University recovered to claim five of six singles matches and earn a 5-2 Conference of New England victory over the University of New England Saturday afternoon (Apr. 11) at Blue Cyclone Complex.

Drake Turcotte factored into both points for the Nor'easters, teaming with
Tyler Mason to claim a 6-3 win at #2 doubles. Turcotte would later conclude the afternoon with a gritty 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 triumph over Colby Esposito at the top singles slot.Â
Kyle Poccia, Eston Fowler, Connor Lord and Michel Abizaid Nunez earned straight-set victories to clinch the result for the Golden Bears, who improved to 7-10 overall and 4-5 in conference action.
Liam Miller extended WNE's Quinn Northrop to three sets at #2 singles before falling by a score of 2-6, 6-4, 2-6.
The Nor'easters (3-6, 2-5) have a few days off before resuming action Tuesday when they host CNE foe Curry College at 3 p.m.
