Statistics

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Keene State College scored six straight second-half goals to erase a 6-4 deficit and come away with a 10-7 non-conference victory over the University of New England men's lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon at Blue Bolt Field.

Keene State's Ben Tukey and UNE's Stephen Fogarty matched one another in the scoring column with three goals apiece. Jack Ansart netted two for the visitors, both of which came consecutively during an Owls-dominated fourth quarter. The game was tied, 6-6, heading into the final 15 minutes, but Keene State (2-2) grabbed a three-goal lead with a trio of scores in the first five minutes, all before tacking on an insurance goal with 6:26 left. Fogarty answered just over a minute later with the afternoon's final goal, helping UNE (1-3) remain within striking distance.

The Owls' early 1-0 lead turned into a 3-1 deficit by the midpoint of the second quarter, and after trading goals, UNE held on to a 4-2 lead in the minutes leading up to halftime. Tukey buried a pair consecutive late second-quarter goals to level the score, 4-4, at the break.

Fogarty and Hogan Corona both scored early in the third quarter, putting UNE back on top by two goals, but Nicholas McNulty's tally with 6:08 left in the third opened the floodgates for Keene State's 6-0 run.

Eli Allaire stopped 20 shots and now has back-to-back 20-save performances to his credit. Andrew Weigand made seven saves for the Owls.

Keene State had the upperhand in clearing, going 19-for-21, while UNE was 17-for-24. The Owls also claimed a 30-19 advantage in ground balls. Both sides were 2-for-4 on their man-up chances.

The Nor'easters play their fifth straight at home on Tuesday, March 10, hosting Maine Maritime at 5 p.m. Tuesday's game was rescheduled from Saturday, Feb. 21.
