BIDDEFORD, Maine – A Curry goal in the 83rd minute spoiled the University of New England men's soccer team's late 1-0 lead, forcing the Nor'easters to settle for a 1-1 tie in Wednesday night's Conference of New England matchup at Hazard Field.

Max Kierstead's first goal of the season, assisted by Reaves Debin, broke the scoreless deadlock in the 60th minute (Watch). The Nor'easters (6-6-4, 0-3-2) were reduced to 10 players by way of a red card in the 76th minute, and the Colonels (5-5-3, 1-2-1) capitalized moments later as Nick Silvia netted the equalizer.

Goalkeeper Kaden Pare made his second start of the season for UNE and recorded two saves. Curry's Ryan McGourty was busier, finishing with five saves. Total shots sided with the hosts, 17-12.

With the game tied, the Colonels had one final look with three minutes remaining, sending a header wide-right from 12 yards out.

Corner kicks were an even two-per-half for both sides, none of which factored in a goal.

UNE's three-game homestand wraps up Saturday, Oct. 10 as the Nor'easters host Endicott at 3 p.m.
