Statistics

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Western New England built a large lead in the first half and didn't look back in its 77-42 Conference of New England victory over the University of New England men's basketball team inside the Anthony S. Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center on Saturday afternoon.

A dominant first half, along with balanced scoring by the Golden Bears (14-5, 10-2 CNE), proved too much to overcome for the Nor'easters (6-13, 4-8), who battled early before succumbing to a 17-0 first-half run and faced a 46-15 deficit at halftime. Tim Restall scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the first half to pace Western New England during its dominant start.

The Golden Bears had three more in double figures other than Restall, including Jake Harrison, who posted a 10-point, 16-rebound double-double, along with five assists and three steals. Adrian Torres led UNE in the scoring column with nine.

Western New England held a 57-28 advantage on the glass while holding UNE under 30 percent from the field on the afternoon, and below 20 percent during the first half.

The Nor'easters return home after two straight on the road to host Endicott on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
