BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Eight different players found the back of the net as No.9 University of New England skated circles around Western New England University in an 11-0 Conference of New England (CNE) men's ice hockey contest on Saturday night (Nov. 8) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

The result for the Nor'easters (3-0, 2-0 CNE) matched the program records for goals in a game and margin of victory, which were established back in 2015-16 against Saint Michael's College. The next year (2016-17), UNE dropped another 11 goals on Becker College.

UNE has found comfort when playing the Golden Bears (0-3, 0-2) in recent years, as WNEU now accounts for four out of the nine times the Nor'easters have surged into double digits.

The hosts wasted little time seizing control of the scoreboard, with goals from Juraj Elias and Noah Szretter at 0:52 and 2:37 of the 1st. Five more scores came in the 2nd period, including tallies from Drew Olivieri and Jacob Pellerin a mere 21 seconds apart before the clock hit 18:00 remaining. Olivieri and Elias each got their second of the evening, and then Braxton Powers notched his first collegiate goal to make it 7-0.

Ryan Hadland potted two goals of his own in the 3rd, around ones by Ike Keller and Brayden Cook; Keller's was his first career marker.

Eleven players registered multiple points for UNE, topped by Szretter with four (3 assists), and then the trio of multi-goal scorers with three apiece. Cam Bergeman, Dominic Murphy, Mike Tersoni, and Aidan Curran each had a pair of assists. The home squad went 2-for-2 with the man-advantage.

Harrison Chesney made one stop in the final frame to get to 10 on the night and finish off his first shutout as a Nor'easter.

Lochlan Lauer could never catch a breather between the pipes for Western New England and turned away 48 shots.

Up next for UNE is a home date on Friday (7 p.m.) against first-year program Roger Williams University.
