BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England women's volleyball team connected for a season-best .333 attacking percentage on the way to a 3-0 triumph (25-22, 25-18, 25-12) over Suffolk University in a Conference of New England (CNE) match on Wednesday at Coach Beaudry's Court inside the Harold Alfond Forum.
Winners of four in-a-row, the Nor'easters improve to 9-7 overall and 3-1 in league action. The Rams (7-12) slip back to 2-2 in the CNE.
The victory also marked No.250 in the career of head coach
Ian Blanchard, who got his start in Division I before coming to UNE.
Chloe Miracle had 10 kills and zero miscues (.400) on offense for the hosts, while collecting 11 digs on the back end.
Ellijah Hanley also registered 10 kills, and six more (6-0-12) came from
Kailyn Reilly, who put a hand in four of the squad's six blocks. The hitting performance was largely supported by a combined 29 assists from
Abby Zamora (17) and
Hayley Shult (12).
In addition to contributing four service aces to the cause,
Kelsey Bradshaw dialed up 19 defensive digs for UNE.
For Suffolk, Sam Michon, Chloe Clement, and Grace Cervenka went for eight, seven, and seven kills, respectively, with the help of 22 assists from Aislinn Lanigan. Kathy Mo recorded 17 digs.
The Nor'easters will visit newest CNE member Johnson & Wales University (R.I.) on Saturday.
