Statistics

EAST BOSTON, Mass. – Back-to-back goals in the early minutes of the second half helped Suffolk down the University of New England men's soccer team by a final score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Ronan Donaghey scored UNE's lone goal in the 85th minute off a feed from Harlan Lundgren to give the Nor'easters (3-4-2, 1-1-0 CNE) a chance. Suffolk previously (4-3-3, 1-0-1 CNE) scored twice in a span of less than two minutes, one by TJ Maselek and later the game winner by Tommy Handelsman, to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

Donaghey has scored in back-to-back games, having scored his first collegiate goal in Tuesday's 2-0 victory at Fitchburg State. The sophomore accounted for UNE's final shot on goal, and only shot in the minutes following his goal, in the 86th minute.

Triston O'Hagan made seven saves for UNE, and Suffolk's Nathan Harlow was called upon to make just two saves.

Saturday's match marked the end of a three-game road stretch as UNE returns home on Tuesday, Oct. 1 to host Massachusetts Maritime at 7 p.m.
