Statistics

BRUNSWICK, Maine Tori Keyes scored an unassisted goal early in the second half to help the University of New England come away with a 1-1 tie against Bowdoin College on Wednesday evening at Pickard Field.

The Nor'easters (2-0-2) fell behind in the first half as Kyra Hacker connected with Lo Hoglin for a header goal inside the left post off a corner kick in the 23rd minute.

Bowdoin (1-0-2) held the lead until the 62nd minute when Keyes was able to break through for UNE with her second goal of the season. After racing past the last defender on the right side, Keyes angled a low shot that grazed the outstretched hands of the keeper and found the far left corner.

UNE's defense was able to hold the Polar Bears to just one tally despite being outshot 19-2 on the night. Sydney Gillingham finished with four saves for the Nor'easters, who secured just their second result in the 21-game all-time series with Bowdoin -- the only win came in 2005.

The Nor'easters begin Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play Friday night against Gordon at Blue Storm Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
