BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England built a five-goal lead to start the game and never looked back on its way to a 13-8 victory over the University of Southern Maine in a men's lacrosse matchup at Blue Bolt Field on Wednesday.
Jordan White finished the day with seven points on three goals and four assists.
Colin Watt added a team-high four goals.
Ryan Hazard had a pair of goals and assists.
Andrew Lawrence score twice and dished out one assist.
Shea Fogarty provided three assists, four ground balls, and a caused turnover.
Lawrence started the scoring just over a minute into the game with his seventh goal of the season. A locked-in penalty gave UNE a long extra-man advantage.

Watch] made the most of the opportunity with goals to make it 3-0 in favor of the Nor'easters at the 10:21 mark of the first. Lawrence and Watt each added another as UNE built a 5-0 lead with 5:32 to play in the quarter.

Watch], USM answered with two of its own by Omar Contreras and Nussinow to pull within two at 6-4 with 6:48 to go until halftime. Southern Maine would never get closer the rest of the way. White connected with Watt with 3:20 remaining in the half to give UNE a 7-4 lead at the break.
The Huskies pulled within two in the opening minute of the third quarter but a three-goal run by the Nor'easters extended the margin to 10-5. Hazard scored both his goals during the stretch. USM answered with a three-goal run of its own, two by Wetmore, to trim the deficit to 10-8 to start the fourth quarter.

Ben Gowell had another stellar effort in the faceoff circle as he won 20-of-24 chances with 13 ground balls.
Will Szumita had two caused turnovers to lead UNE.
Alex Thoms made 15 saves in his first start of the year in net for the Nor'easters who improve to 2-3.
Addison Dietz made 10 saves in the loss.
UNE is back at home against Plattsburgh State on Saturday at 12 p.m.
