KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Ramapo College bounced back from an early deficit to record a 9-4 decision versus the University of New England on Thursday (Mar. 16) at The Spring Games.
The Nor'easters (2-5) struck almost immediately with a two-out, two-run homer from
Grace Tutt in the top of the 1st inning. The Roadrunners (9-2) answered with a two-run blast by Nicole Cerasi in the bottom of the 2nd, and then plated three more with two away in the 3rd to move in front. Avery Kontura had a two-run double for the lead.
UNE drew back-to-back based-loaded walks in the 4th to pull within one (5-4), but Ramapo used the long ball in the last half of the frame to gain some separation. Alexis Corra hit a three-run homer and Kontura followed with a solo shot. In both the 5th and 6th, the Nor'easters had runners at first and second with just one out, but were unable to close the gap.
Jamie DuPont had a team-high two hits for UNE.
Kara MacDonald took the loss in the circle.
