BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Yonas Medfu put up a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds to lead the University of Maine-Augusta in an 84-76 men's basketball decision versus the University of New England on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 18) at Coach Beaudry's Court inside the Harold Alfond Forum.

Medfu accounted for roughly half (7) of what proved to be the deciding stretch, as the Moose scored 15 in a span of 19 to flip a 65-63 UNE edge with 8:44 to go. His three-pointer with 2:09 on the clock made it 78-69.

For the game, Medfu hit 5-of-8 from downtown, as did Donte Sharp, who tallied 24 points in support. UMA (1-4) received 12 points and six assists out of Zach Maturo, and the 10 boards from Trevor Beals helped establish the visitors with a 51-44 advantage on the glass.

The Nor'easters (3-2) got a team-high 17 points from Dylan Crowley, who canned 4-of-9 from long distance. Jayden Thornton went for 16 points and nine caroms, while Adam Lux chipped in with 15 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks. Zach Boulay registered 10 points, and Kyle Lombardi posted 10 rebounds with six assists.

The hosts held a 24-14 cushion in the 1st half before the Moose worked their way back, and the last five of the period gave UMaine Augusta a 40-37 edge at the break. Sharp supplied 19 points during the initial 20 minutes.

UNE came out strong in the 2nd, as nine by Lux powered a 14-5 start to make it 51-45 in favor of the home squad. The next seven went for the visitors, though, and the lead changed hands five more times prior to the closing run.

The Nor'easters are back in action Tuesday at Lesley University.
