Adam Lux poured in 29 points and corralled 14 rebounds to pace the University of New England men's basketball team in a 79-61 victory over Lesley University on Tuesday night (Nov. 21) at Cooper Gymnasium.
The Nor'easters (4-2) went on a 17-3 run in the middle of the 1st half to break away from a one-point game and take control.
Jimmy Hulland, who scored all of his 12 points during the opening 20 minutes, fueled the separating stretch with seven points. UNE shot 47 percent (16-for-34) before halftime, including 5-of-11 from downtown.
The margin topped out at 28 (58-30) less than six minutes into the closing stanza.
Lux made 11-of-20 field goals on the way to his second double-double, which he also achieved in the 2nd half alone (19 points, 10 rebounds).
Zach Boulay, like Hulland, added 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor with a couple of free throws.
Jayden Thornton and
Connor Curcio tacked on nine and eight points, respectively.
Malachi Howard had 23 points and 10 boards for the Lynx (1-4).
The Nor'easters welcome the University of Maine-Presque Isle into the Forum for a match on Sunday (1 p.m.).
