BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England earned a 1-1 tie with the University of Hartford in men's soccer action at Blue Storm Stadium on Saturday.
The Nor'easters got on the board first in the 18
th minute with a goal by
Chris Caiazzo. UNE was awarded a free kick on the near sideline close to midfield.
Luke Gould booted the kick long into the box and Caiazzo leaped above two defenders and headed the ball into the left side of the net to put the Nor'easters in front. [

The lead stood until the 64
th minute when Alex Quinones knotted the score. Trey Sadler crossed a ball from 10-yards out to Quinones at the middle of the box and he finished on one touch with a strong shot to the right corner of the net.
UNE outshot Hartford 16-14 overall, but the Hawks had a 6-3 advantage on net.
Ollie Hammond had five saves for the Nor'easters (1-7-5). Ryan Lunn had two for Hartford.
Hartford (1-4-2) is the newest member of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), however still in the process of reclassifying from Division I to Division III.
The Nor'easters are back at home on Tuesday night in a CCC match against Wentworth at 7 p.m.
