MILTON, Mass. -- The University of New England and Curry College played to a 1-1 tie in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's soccer action on Homecoming Saturday evening (Oct. 21) at Walter M. Katz Field.
Heading into their final regular-season game of the season, the Nor'easters stand at 7-4-4 overall, 4-2-1 in conference play. Curry sports a 3-6-7 overall mark and is 1-3-3 in CCC action.
The Nor'easters opened the scoring just 2:14 into the match when
Bella Reil slid a shot just inside the left post to give UNE a 1-0 lead.
Emily Martin found Reil and was credited with an assist.
UNE would take that 1-0 advantage into intermission.
Curry leveled the score very early in the second frame when Madison Frye converted a pass from Maddie Resendes for her team-leading seventh tally of the season.
For the match the Nor'easters held advantages in shots (18-12) and corner kicks (19-1).
Sydney Gillingham finished with five saves for the Nor'easters, who play a road match at Endicott College on Tuesday (7:00 p.m.). Lexi Smardon had six stops for Curry.
