WENHAM, Mass. -- Annie Zimmerman contributed a match-best 15 kills to help lead the Gordon College Fighting Scots to a 3-0 victory over the University of New England in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball match played Wednesday evening (Oct. 18) at the Bennett Center.

Gordon improved to 12-7 (3-1 CCC) by sweeping the match with set scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-18. The Nor'easters now stand at 10-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

After taking a tight back-and-forth first set, the hosts rallied from a 22-19 deficit in the second frame to seize control of the match. Zimmerman registered kills on two of the final three points to help give the Fighting Scots a 2-0 cushion.

Trailing 5-2 in the third set, Gordon would take 12 of the ensuing 15 points to pull away.

UNE's Viktoria Pavlyuk continued her strong play for UNE, accounting for team highs of 13 kills and seven digs. Ellijah Hanley chipped in with 10 kills, while setter Kassidy Bradshaw finished with 22 assists to go with six digs and a match-high four service aces.

The Nor'easters are back in action this weekend when they travel to Massachusetts for a non-conference tri-match. They will take on Fitchburg State University at 3:00 p.m., then host Framingham State at 5:00 p.m.
