GORHAM, Maine – The University of New England women's soccer team picked up a 2-1 victory over the University of Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon at Hannaford Field.
Olivia King put in the rebound off a shot by
Emily Martin in the 18th minute to put the Nor'easters (3-1) in front 1-0.
Marie Hoehner found
Tori Keyes for a goal in the 58th minute to extend the lead.
Mia Sargent scored to the low right corner on a penalty kick in the 87th minute for the lone Huskies' goal.
USM held a 21-10 advantage in total shots and 12-5 on goal.
Sydney Gillingham was tremendous in net with 11 saves on the day. Breanna Atwood had three stops for the Huskies (3-1).
The Nor'easters return to action at home on Wednesday night against Bowdoin at 7 p.m.
