BIDDEFORD, Maine –
Jimmy Elser and
Tyler Seltenreich each had two goals as #11 University of New England pulled away for an 8-2 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory over Suffolk University in the 6th Annual Teddy Bear Toss men's hockey game at the Harold Alfond Forum on Friday night.
Suffolk jumped out to an early lead as Alex Kolowrat connected on a blast from the left circle 2:49 into play.
Logan DiScanio put back a rebound off a shot by
Chris Jones to tie the game for the Nor'easters at 1-1 with 9:41 left in the first and send teddy bears raining onto the ice

Chad Merrell gave UNE the lead for good with a goal at the 12:48 mark of the second period. DiScanio and Elser helped on the go-ahead goal
[Watch]. Seltenreich put in his first of the game with 2:05 to play in the period on a pass from
Justin Dixson [Watch]. Elser launched one past Suffolk netminder Cal Wilcox just 17 seconds later to put the Nor'easters in front 4-1 through two periods

The Nor'easters (14-3-1, 13-3-1 CCC) continued to pour it on in the third.
Jared Christy added his ninth goal of the year early in the period off two crisp passes from
Daniel Winslow and
Austin Morgan [Watch]. Christy now has at least one point in 11 straight games. The Rams added one back on a goal by Griffin Clark with 12:58 to play, but then Elser took it coast-to-coast after a pass by Jones in the defensive end to score his second of the night and put UNE ahead 6-2 midway through the final period

Seltenreich put in his second moments later as
Aaron Aragon found him with a centering pass in front
[Watch]. The goal was the 51
st for Seltenreich, moving him into third all-time on the Nor'easters career list.
Ryan Kuzmich added the final goal with 2:46 to play, tying Winslow with 10 goals on the season

Billy Girard IV made 14 stops and had an assist in the victory. Wilcox made 15 saves for the Rams (5-11-4, 5-9-4 CCC).
