Statistics

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- In spite of a power outage midway through the 1st half and more than half the game played under partial lighting, Gordon College picked up an 88-60 men's basketball result against the University of New England as Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action kicked off at Coach Beaudry's Court inside the Harold Alfond Forum on Wednesday night (Nov. 30).

The Fighting Scots (4-3, 1-0 CCC) received 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting from Garrett Sattazahn. Michael Makiej contributed 18 points, and corralled 12 rebounds to power a 41-24 margin on the glass. Bryce Smith notched 12 points and dished out six assists for Gordon, which displayed 55 percent accuracy from the field and scored 50 points in the paint.

Ray Evans dropped in 14 points to guide the Nor'easters (2-6, 0-1 CCC), with another 11 coming from Drake Gavin. Adrian Torres chipped in with eight points, five rebounds, and four steals.

UNE had a 4-2 edge early on, but a quick nine by the visitors flipped the script for good. The gap hit double digits at 20-10 prior to the delay, though was only 15 (44-29) at the break. A 14-3 stretch not long into the 2nd period padded the cushion for Gordon to 60-35.

The Nor'easters get back to work Saturday at Western New England University.
