Endicott gets past UNE, 16-7

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Endicott College picked up a 16-7 victory over the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's lacrosse action at UNE Blue Bolt Field on Saturday afternoon. The Gulls improve to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play, while the Nor'easters remain winless at 0-5 overall and in the league.
 
Domenic Russo scored two of his game-high six goals in the first quarter as Endicott led 4-1 after 15 minutes.
 
The Nor'easters responded with three goals early in the second quarter to tie things at 4-4. Jordan White found a cutting Kyle Kennedy for a goal to trim the deficit. Gavin Tanis scored quickly off the ensuing face-off to bring the Nor'easters within one. Devon Jackson juked a defender to the ground and launched a goal to knot the game with 9:56 to play in the half. [Watch]
 
Endicott pulled away from there, scoring the next 10 goals. Kennedy added his third of the day in the final seconds of the third quarter to make it 14-5 in favor of the Gulls. Alex York scored twice in the fourth for the Nor'easters as each team had a pair of goals in the quarter.
 
The Gulls held a 62-30 advantage in shots and 33-21 on goal. Austin Fournier earned the victory between the pipes with 14 saves. Kameron Bouvier had 17 stops for UNE.
 
Jared Duffy was stellar in the face-off circle, winning 20-of-26 attempts.
 
Jack Sutherland added five points on three goals and two assists for Endicott. Sam DesMarais (2g, 1a), Nick Pagluiso (3a), and Sam Abate (3a) each contributed three points. Jordan White had two assists for UNE.
 
The Nor'easters finish their season at Wentworth on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
