Personal: his parents are Desiree and Chris Tanis... majoring in athletic training... a Dean's List student... his father played ice hockey at Plymouth State University.

Prior to UNE: graduated from Thornton Academy, where he played varsity lacrosse, soccer, and ice hockey... earned varsity letters as a sophomore and junior in lacrosse at Hebron Academy... varsity soccer and ice hockey as a freshman at John Bapst High School.
