BIDDEFORD, Maine – #12 University of New England scored three goals in the final period on its way to a 5-3 victory over Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) rival Western New England University in men's ice hockey action at the Harold Alfond Forum on Friday.

Tyler Seltenreich scored his second goal of the night 9:44 into the third period to break a 2-2 tie. Chris Jones blasted a shot that was saved by WNEU goaltender Anthony Aureliano and Seltenreich scooped up the rebound and scored top-shelf to put the Nor'easters in front for good. [Watch]

Daniel Winslow launched one into the next from the right circle on a UNE power play to extend the lead to 4-2 with 7:00 remaining. [Watch]

The puck landed right at the stick of Kyle Knight on a failed clear attempt by the Nor'easters with just over two minutes left and he finished to trim the WNEU deficit to just one. Ryan Kuzmich put the game away with an empty net goal from center ice 33 seconds later. [Watch]

Neither team was able to get on the board in the first period despite the Nor'easters outshooting the Golden Bears 16-5. Jared Christy grabbed the puck in the defensive zone and went the distance for his third goal of the year, 1:13 into the second period to give UNE a 1-0 lead. [Watch]

A shot by Josh Bliss was blocked but bounced right to Sam Mitchell, who scored for WNEU to tie the game at one 4:19 into the second.

Seltenreich stuffed in a rebound near the halfway mark of the second to put UNE back in front 2-1 [Watch]. The Golden Bears tied it again with 4:14 to play in the period on a goal by Lliam Christiano.

James Corcoran made 15 saves to earn the victory in his first start of the season for UNE, which improves to 6-1-1 overall and 5-1-1 in CCC play. Aureliano stopped 37 shots in the loss. The Golden Bears fall to 4-6 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
