BEVERLY, Mass. -- Kaleigh Putnam (CCC 1st Team) and Emily Pratt (CCC 1st Team) combined for 32 first-half points as No.3 Endicott College raced out to a 21-point cushion on the way to a 74-57 result against fourth-seeded University of New England in the title match of the 2020 Commonwealth Coast Conference Women's Basketball Championship on Saturday evening (Feb. 29) at MacDonald Gymnasium.

With the program's first league tournament victory, the Gulls (18-10) take the CCC's automatic bid into the 2020 NCAA Division III Championship. The Nor'easters wrap the year at 20-8 overall.

Putnam and Pratt finished with 21 and 17 points, respectively, for Endicott. Tara Laugeni recorded 12 points and eight boards, while Mikaela Rogers (CCC 2nd Team) had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

UNE received 16 points and six caroms out of Abby Cavallaro (CCC 1st Team). Madalyn Sanborn also registered a career-best 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting before fouling out, and Ashley Coneys totaled 13 points. Sadie Nelson (CCC 3rd Team) gathered a game-high 11 rebounds, and Jocelyn Chaput (CCC 2nd Team) added 10 more to help the team's 43-42 edge on the glass.

The Gulls shot 48.6 percent from the field during the initial 20 minutes (18-of-37), and both Putnam and Pratt went 2-for-2 from downtown. Seven points from Pratt keyed a 13-2 spurt in the 1st period that put separation between the teams (19-8). The visitors connected on just 25 percent of their tries in the opening quarter.

Coming back from intermission with a 44-23 lead, EC committed four quick turnovers and was unable to find the basket until the 5:14 mark of the 3rd. The Nor'easters managed to gain back six points in that span, but still trailed by 17 (52-35) heading into the last stanza.

UNE narrowed the deficit to 58-46 with 6:15 remaining, behind Sanborn with the team's first eight and a three-point play by Coneys. Laugeni put a halt to the momentum shift with back-to-back hoops.

Chaput and Coneys conclude four-year careers that featured a pair of league titles in an 81-32 record (56-12 CCC). In all 113 games, Chaput ends with 1,161 points to stand 15th on the program's all-time list, along with 662 rebounds (12th) and 362 assists (6th). Coneys (107 games) posted 960 points with 510 rebounds, and her 329 free throws made ranks 7th at UNE.
