Nor'easters roll over Babson in 6 innings, 9-0

CLERMONT, Fla. -- The University of New England spread out seven runs over the initial three innings to gain control on the way to a 9-0 victory over Babson College in six innings on Monday morning (Mar. 14) at the Dot Richardson Spring Softball Games hosted by the U.S. National Training Center.

Sydnee Bessler did her job in the circle for the Nor'easters (3-2), allowing just five base runners while striking out two in the complete game shutout.

Abby Lambert had the first of her two hits in the contest during the top of the 1st, launching a three-run shot over the fence. In the 2nd, Caroline Schoenbucher knocked in one with a two-out triple, and Lauren Jones followed with an RBI-double as UNE assumed a 5-0 lead.

Jones had three hits to top the offense, with Schoenbucher adding two runs and two RBI.

Ali Reilly took the loss for the Beavers (2-3).
