Brady Fleurent,
Dylan Bengston and
Trevor Fleurent accounted for three goals and five assists to power the Nor'easters to a 5-3 non-league men's ice hockey win over Franklin Pierce University Saturday afternoon (Jan. 2) at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Undefeated in their last six games (5-0-1), UNE improved its record to 6-4-2, while the Ravens dropped to 2-10-0.
Trailing 2-1 midway through the second period, the Nor'easters closed the frame strong to grab control. After a shot by Bengston was blocked by a Raven defender,
Brady Fleurent controlled the loose puck at the top of the crease and poked it home to tie the score at 14:39.
Cassidy April would give UNE the lead for good less than three minutes later, converting a wrist shot from the right point for his first goal of the season.
Bengston gave the Nor'easters a 4-2 advantage with just over seven minutes elapsed in the third, but Franklin Pierce cut its deficit to one at the 16:33 mark on a short-handed goal by Paddy Murphy.
Brady Fleurent notched an insurance goal with 2:18 remaining, one-timing a centering pass from Bengston.

UNE got on the scoreboard first when
Jimmy Tich scored on a goal set-up by
Blaise Healy and
Dustin Walsh.
TheRavens would score back-to-back goals to grab a 2-1 lead. Jonathan Haun tallied his team-leading fifth goal at16:34,sweeping in arebound of his own shot, and then David Wilcoxfollowed-up a shot by Evan Marek with 11:08 gone by inthe second.
For the game, UNE outshot the Ravens by a 45-21 margin. Bengston,
Trevor Fleurent and
Pavel Tereshchenko each contributed a pair of assists.
Goaltenders
Mason Riley and
Connor Maloney split time in goal for the Nor'easters andhad nine stops apiece. Maloney earned the decision to improve his unbeaten mark to 4-0-1.
Tom McGuckin had a busy afternoon between the pipes for Franklin Pierce, totaling 40 saves.
The Nor'easters resume New EnglandHockey Conference play next Friday and Saturday when they host Castleton University and Skidmore College.The Ravens play a non-league home game Saturday versus Suffolk University.
