UNE uses three-run 3rd to pass Hamilton, 5-3

CLERMONT, Fla. -- Abby Lambert and Mollie Bartles had RBI-hits to cap a three-run 3rd inning to turn around a 2-1 deficit as the University of New England posted a 5-3 victory over Hamilton College on Sunday afternoon (Mar. 15) at the Dot Richardson Spring Softball Games hosted by the U.S. National Training Center.

Katelyn Austin struck out two while giving up five hits and two earned runs to get the win for the Nor'easters (2-2). Lambert, Meghan Bolano, and Paige Moore-Haskell each had a pair of base hits to lead the Big Blue offense. Lambert also scored two times.

Five different players recorded hits for the Continentals (0-2), including Olivia Gozdz, who sent her crack over the fence in the bottom of the 1st to give Hamilton a one-run advantage. Monique St. Jarre fanned three in taking the setback.
