Nor'easters storm past Husson to improve to 3-1

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England women's swimming team authored a dominant performance on Saturday (Nov. 15), breezing past the Husson University Eagles, 206-41, at the Campus Center Pool.

Rachael Romain led the way for the Nor'easters (3-1), claiming three individual victories and swimming a leg in a victorious relay performance. Romain was first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:10.61), 200-yard breaststroke (2:45.21) and 400-yard individual medley (5:09.97). She teamed with Andrea Rybicki, Kelly Dolyak and Daisy Walsh to win the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:14.02.

Lindsey Thomsen and Kayla Burgess each picked up wins in a pair of individual races. Thomsen was first in the 50-free (26.67) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.27), while Burgess was strong in the butterly events, winning the 100 with a time of 1:03.79 and the 200 with a time of 2:29.40. Thomsen also joined Rybicki, Eleni Bautz and Stephanie Pare to win the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Earning one win apiece for the Nor'easters were Emily Fellows (1000 free; 12:33.32), Emmie Travers (100 free; 1:05.05), Catherine Labriola (200 back; 2:31.43) and Dolyak (500 free; 5:42.90).

UNE will host Plymouth State University this Saturday (Nov. 22) at 1 p.m.
