BRISTOL, R.I. -- Roger Williams University recorded set scores of 25-16, 25-14, and 25-18 to defeat the University of New England, 3-0, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's volleyball match at the Campus Rec. Center on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 26).

After a 1-4 start to the season, the Hawks now stand at 19-5 and remain unbeaten in the CCC (7-0). RWU concludes the regular-season on Tuesday against Western New England University (6-0 CCC).

The loss brought an end to UNE's five-match win streak, dropping the Nor'easters (11-13) back to 4-2 in conference outings.

Kristen Boyer and Sarah McAniff each tallied seven kills for Roger Williams, while Nicole Weber and Josalyn Benson registered 13 and 12 assists, respectively, to pace the attack. Maria Batas had a match-high 18 digs, and McAniff added eight more.

Big Blue received seven winners from sophomore Grayson Szczepaniak, and six kills from senior Leah Janelle. First-year Brooke Gibbons posted a double-double of 16 assists and 16 digs for the visitors, and sophomore Nikki Mathewson contributed eight digs.

The Nor'easters visit Endicott College (4-2 CCC) on Tuesday (7 p.m.).
