BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Two goals from senior Chris Duszynski paced a balanced attack for Norwich University, as the No. 4 Cadets pulled away to an 8-1 ECAC Men's East Ice Hockey League victory over the University of New England on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 16) at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Tied 1-1 after the 1st period, Norwich netted three goals in the 2nd and four more in the 3rd to improve to 4-0 on the young season (3-0 ECAC East). The Nor'easters dip back to 2-3-1 overall, 1-3 in league play.
For the Cadets, senior Travis Janke and first-years Cody Smith, Brian Rowland, and Dmitry Ermakov each tallied a goal and an assist. Senior Shane Gorman notched three assists to help setup the offense.
Rowland got things started in the opening frame, scoring on the power play with 2:27 gone.

Norwich regained the advantage just before the midway point of the second, as first-year Mike Kelly converted a feed from Smith and Rowland.
The visitors added scores at 9:28 and 14:14 of the middle stanza to go up 4-1 after 40 minutes, and found the back of the cage at 7:38, 14:24, 15:26, and 19:45 of the third period to win going away.
Junior Matic Marinsek turned aside 16 shots to earn the positive decision in goal for Norwich, while UNE junior
Colby Drost made 39 saves in a busy afternoon on the other end of the ice.
Next weekend features a trip to New Hampshire for the Cadets, who are slated to face Saint Anselm College (Friday) and New England College (Saturday) in ECAC East games.
Big Blue heads just up the coast next Friday (7 p.m.) for a date with the University of Southern Maine.
