BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior guard
Carrie Bunnell (Barnet, Vt.) went 9-of-13 from the floor to finish with 23 points and help lead the University of New England women's basketball team to an 82-50 win over Western New England College in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game played Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center.
The Nor'easters, winners of seven of their last eight outings, now sit at 13-6 on the season and 6-1 in league contests. UNE has defeated WNEC the last four times the two teams have met.
Bunnell canned five of the team's 10 treys on her way to a season-high point total. Junior
Kelley Paradis (Newport, Maine) chipped in with 17 points, five assists, seven steals -- half of UNE's total on the day.

Beth Suggs (Bath, Maine) added 14 points -- including 10 in the first frame -- on 7-of-11 shooting. Junior
Margo Russell (Madison, Maine) collected a game-high seven boards.
UNE shot 47 percent (31-for-66) for the game and totaled 25 assists on those baskets -- of which senior
April Mroz (Somersworth, N.H.) had a career-best seven helpers.
A back-and-forth game in the early going saw the Nor'easters take the lead for good (22-21) with 7:14 left in the opening half on the three-pointer by Mroz. The hosts doubled up their opponents during the remainder of the first period to settle on a 41-29 advantage at the break.
The Nor'easters came out of intermission with seven unanswered points and 15 of the initial 18 in the stanza to push the margin to 25 (56-31) with about 14 minutes to go. Bunnell recorded 12 points in the stretch.
UNE's cushion swelled to as many as 40 (79-39) with 6:46 left on the clock. Throughout the afternoon Big Blue pressure got the better of WNEC, as the Nor'easters racked up 35 points off of 26 Golden Bear turnovers.
Western New England first-year Ali Pessolano (Hampden, Mass.) totaled nine points to pace the visitors, who fall to 10-8 overall and 2-5 in TCCC matches. Juniors Kathleen Jasinski (Templeton, Mass.) and Sarah Proper (Coxsackie, N.Y.) each went for eight points.
Both squads are back in action Wednesday. UNE visits Wentworth Institute of Techonology at 5:30 p.m., while the Golden Bears entertain Eastern Nazarene College at 7:30 p.m.
