PAXTON, Mass. -- Junior Kelley Paradis (Newport, Maine) led five players in double figures with 16 points, and the University of New England Nor'easters connected for 10 three-point field goals on their way to a 94-51 victory over Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon at the Fuller Center.

The victory improves UNE's record to 11-6, 4-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference play. Anna Maria is 6-11 overall and 0-5 in conference games.

Paradis was 8 of 12 from the floor and picked up five steals in just 22 minutes of playing time. No UNE players saw more than 25 minutes of action while 11 players reached double digits in minutes.

Joining Paradis in double figures in the scoring column were senior Carrie Bunnell (Barnet, Vt.), juniors Kari Pelletier (South Paris, Maine) and Margo Russell (Madison, Maine), and sophomore Beth Suggs (Bath, Maine). Russell scored 15 points on 5-of-5 accuracy from the floor while Pelletier knocked down all four of her three-point attempts en route to 14 points. Suggs chipped in 12 to go with six rebounds and Bunnell scored 10.

Anna Maria sophomore Allison McCarthy (Lynn, Mass.) connected five times from beyond the arc on her way to a team-high 15 points.

Leading by eight (21-13) midway thru the first half, the Nor'easters outscored the AMCATS 32-10 the rest of the frame to take a commanding 53-23 lead into intermission. Pelletier caught fire during the surge, drilling three treys and knocking down another jumper to lead the onslaught.

The outcome was never in question after halftime as Big Blue maintained a lead of 30 or more while substituting freely.

UNE shot a shade under 50 percent (34 of 69) for the contest while forcing 29 Anna Maria turnovers. The Nor'easters turned those miscues into 35 points, many coming in the paint as UNE registered 38 points from inside the lane. Big Blue also controlled the glass to the tune of a 41-27 rebounding margin.

The Nor'easters are off until Thursday (Jan. 27) when they host Regis College at 6 p.m. in a showdown of last season's TCCC title game.
