The Nor'easters pulled out a key TCCC road win on Anthony Coleman's buzzer-beater

Anthony Coleman (Austin, Texas) banked home a turnaround jump shot at the final buzzer to give the University of New England a thrilling 81-80 The Commonwealth Coast Conference road win over Regis College Thursday night at the Regis Athletic Arena.
Regis junior Darrin Kelley (South Dennis, Mass.) made a pair of free throws with 1.6 seconds remaining that put the Pride up one (80-79). With no timeouts left, UNE sophomore
Quentin Thompson (Austin, Texas) threw a pass the length of the court to Coleman, who turned and got the game-winning bucket to fall.
With 10 seconds to play, junior
Kadare Brown (Baton Rouge, La.) canned a three-pointer, capping a 9-1 run and giving the Nor'easters a 79-78 lead -- after trailing nearly the entire second half.
Playing in just his third collegiate contest, Coleman finished with 13 points for UNE, which won for the third straight outing to improve to 8-9 (4-2 TCCC).
Sophomore
Anthony Johnson (Austin, Texas) poured in 20 points to pace Big Blue. Brown scored 15 points, including four 3-pointers. Thompson recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while handing out a game-high five assists.
Kelley and James Cooper (Philadelphia, Pa.) combined for 39 points for the Pride (8-10, 4-2 TCCC). Phil Alibrandi (York, Maine) scored 15 points and grabbed eight boards.
Regis grabbed its first advantage of the contest on an Alibrandi basket less than three minutes into the final stanza. After a Brown trey momentarily gave the lead back to the visitors, Cooper scored to put the hosts in front again.
The Pride built a cushion as big as 12 points (69-57) by the 9:04 mark of the second period, before UNE began chipping away at the deficit.
The Nor'easters shot a robust 54.5 percent (18-for-33) from the floor after halftime to aid in the victory. For the game UNE out-rebounded Regis, 40-25, but was outscored at the free throw line, 25-5.
Early on, the Nor'easters jumped out to an 11-0 lead 3:40 into the game. Brown had the final eight points during the stretch.
UNE maintained a 10-point edge (35-25) at the 5:19 mark of the opening half, before five straight points from Cooper and four more -- all in a span of two minutes -- trimmed the margin to one just prior to intermission.
