QUINCY, Mass. -- The University of New England won its eighth consecutive game behind 50 percent (37 of 74) shooting from the floor, defeating Eastern Nazarene College, 89-56, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's basketball action Wednesday evening at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Nor'easters, who defeated the Lions for the fifth straight time and ninth time in the last 10 meetings, improve to 13-3 on the season (4-0 TCCC). Eastern Nazarene lost for the fifth time in six outings, falling below .500 to 7-8 overall (1-3 TCCC).

Kelley Paradis (Newport, Maine) led five UNE players in double figures with 17 points to go with seven rebounds, and first-year
Beth Suggs (Bath, Maine) came off the bench to score a season-high 16 points.
Sophomore
Margo Russell (Madison, Maine), junior
Carrie Bunnell (Barnet, Vt.), and first-year
Michelle Williams (South Berwick, Maine) went for 12, 11, and 10 points, respectively. Russell also tallied seven assists and pulled down six boards. Combined, the five players shot 27 of 43 (62.7 percent) for the game.
Senior
Katie Diggins (Merrimack, N.H.) collected a game-high nine rebounds for the Nor'easters, who held a 45-36 edge on the glass.
Junior Ja'na Jenkins (Oakland, Calif.) had 14 points and six rebounds for the Lions. First-year Shardae Brown (Waterbury, Conn.) chipped in with 11 points.
UNE led 19-8 less than six minutes into the game, before four quick points trimmed the margin to seven. ENC would not get any closer the rest of the way.
The Nor'easters reeled off 12 unanswered points in a span of four minutes as the cushion ballooned to 19 points (31-12). The Lions managed get the deficit back down to single digits (37-29) with 2:04 left in the opening frame, but UNE finished off the half with six straight points to go up by 14 at the break and remain in control.
Eastern Nazarene converted a mere 32.8 percent (21-for-64) of its field goal attempts for the contest.
The Nor'easters will look to extend their winning streak to nine games Saturday when they return home for a match with Anna Maria College (1 p.m.). The Lions travel to Regis College the same day.
