BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior guard
Alli Gamache (Dudley, Mass.) scored 14 points, including the 1,000th of her career, to help lead the University of New England over Roger Williams University, 81-51, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center.
With the victory, the Nor'easters (16-5, 9-0 TCCC) extend their winning streak to 10 games.
Gamache banked home a runner in the final minute of the first half for her 1,000th point, becoming the 17th player in program history to reach the career milestone.
After the Hawks grabbed their only lead of the game less than three minutes into the game (6-5), a 16-0 UNE run over the next 10 minutes gave the Nor'easters firm control of the contest.
The Nor'easters continued to extend their lead, establishing a 19-point margin at intermission (37-18). UNE spread the points around in the first half, with six players scoring at least four points -- Gamache leading the way with eight.
Roger Williams suffered from shooting only 24 percent (6 of 25) in the frame, and being out-rebounded, 25-15.
The result was never in doubt during the second half as the Nor'easters pulled away to the 30-point win.

Sara Pelkey (Barre, Vt.) added 13. First-year
Kelley Paradis (Newport, Maine) chipped in with nine points and a team-high nine rebounds.
UNE finished the game with a 49-26 rebounding edge. The Nor'easters also tallied 23 assists on 29 field goals.
The Hawks (5-16, 3-6 TCCC) were led by Jackie Criss (Westwood, Mass.) and Jennifer Youngquist (Sandwich, Mass.) with 11 points apiece. Casey Anderson (Cohasset, Mass.) pulled down nine boards.
Both teams are back in action Tuesday. UNE visits Endicott College, while RWU travels to Anna Maria College. Each game is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.
