Sophomore Kelley Paradis scored 17 points versus the seventh-ranked Polar Bears Tuesday night

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The nationally-ranked Bowdoin College women's basketball team put up 46 points in the second half on its way to a 78-51 victory over the University of New England in non-conference action Tuesday night at Morrell Gymnasium.
The Polar Bears (3-0), ranked No. 7 in the most recent D3Hoops.com national poll, got a game-high 19 points from Ellery Gould. Gould came off the bench to nail four 3-pointers and convert 7 of 9 field goal attempts in just 23 minutes of court time.
Nicole Coombs was the only other Bowdoin player to reach double digits, scoring 10 points in seven minutes of action. Twelve different players scored for the Polar Bears, who shot 52.9 percent (18 of 34) after halftime and 47 percent (31 of 66) for the game. Defensively, they limited the UNE to 25 percent (15 of 60) accuracy from the floor.
Sophomore Kelley Paradis tallied a team-high 17 points to lead the way for UNE. Paradis made four attempts from beyond the arc and also blocked a pair of shots. Senior Katie Diggins chipped in eight points. Sophomore point guard Kari Pelletier added four assists and four steals.
Leading 41-32 with just under 15 minutes to play, the Polar Bears embarked on a 17-7 run over the ensuing eight minutes to put the game away. Gould made a pair of treys to help fuel the run.
